The 25W charger that comes with the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is Samsung’s First USB-C Charger (EP-TA800). It supports USB PD and Programmable Power Supply (PPS) mode that reduces the power output if it feels that it could heat up the phone. Now let’s put it to our test.

Using our ChargerLAB Power-Z FL001S USB tester, it shows that the charger only supports USB PD protocol. No other protocol (including Samsung’s own AFC) is supported.

PDO information reveals it is capable of USB PD charging in fixed steps at 5V/3A and 9V/2.77A, and variable PPS steps at 3.3-5.9V/3A and 3.3-11V/2.75A. That means it is a USB PD 3.0 PPS charger.

The following is our charging test.

Charging the Samsung Galaxy S10+, our POWER-Z KM001C reads 9.03V 1.62A 14.7W, under USB PD fast charging protocol.

Charging the iPhone XS Max, we are getting 9.04V 2.21A 19.98W, under USB PD protocol.

Charging the Xiaomi Mi9, we are getting 9.15V 2.52A 23W, under USB PD protocol.

Charging the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, we are getting 9.03V 1.77A 16W, under USB PD protocol.

Charging the Meizu 16Xs, we are getting 7.76V 1.82A 14.15W, under USB PD protocol.

Charging the iPad Air3, we are getting 9.04V 2.59A 23.5W, under USB PD protocol.
